Having dreamed of becoming a high school band director, Jan changed direction and began working in the legal field after moving to Midland in 1982. She was legal secretary to Attorney Mary Ann Oakley until late 1987, when she joined the firm of Bullock, Scott, Neisig & Owens as a legal secretary and later, paralegal. She obtained her Associate Degree in Legal Assistance in 1993 and her CLA in 2000. Jan was been a paralegal in the litigation section of Cotton, Bledsoe, Tighe & Dawson from October 1997 - October 2007, where she worked for Shareholder Rick Fletcher and Associates Sean Guerrero, Aaron Dorfner and Reagan Butts. Just recently, Jan joined Mr. Fletcher at the newly formed Fletcher Law Offices, P.C., and excellent opportunity about which she is very excited.

Jan is a member of PA/PB (formerly LAA/PB), PBLSA, NALA, Midland County Bar Association (MCBA), and PD (formerly LAD) - State Bar of Texas, where she has served as District 11 Public Relations Committee Chair. She has previously served as Treasurer (2001 - 2003) and 1st Vice President (2003 - 2005), and President (2005 - 2006) of PA/PB. She is the recipient of the 2005 Paralegal of the Year Award. Jan is also an alumnus of Leadership Midland (Class of 2000), and currently a member of the Midland College Paralegal Studies Advisory Committee.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Jan is married to Sgt. B.John McDaniel of the Midland County Sheriff's Office. She has two children, Carrie Armbruster-Grosch (who lives in Austin), and Chris Mouton (1Lt. USAF, currently stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE); stepdaughter Cami Davis (who lives in Midland), and 8 grandchildren. In her “spare” time, she is never far from her “first love,” music ~ by serving Grace Presbyterian Church of Midland as Director of Music, and playing and teaching saxophone. Jan is a licensed amateur radio operator (“ham”), enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, and spoiling her grandchildren, her two Boston Terriers “Hunny Bear” and “Bozley,” and cat “Quincy.”
