Mary began working for Cotton, Bledsoe, Tighe & Dawson, P.C. in Midland, Texas in January 1998. She began working in the areas of personal injury, employment law, and oil and gas litigation. Her supervising attorneys are Mike Willson and Roy A. Key Jr. Prior to joining Cotton, Bledsoe, Tighe & Dawson, Mary was a legal assistant in 1997 for the McMahon, Tidwell, Hansen, Atkins & Peacock Firm in Odessa, Texas.

Mary received her B.A. in History from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. She entered the legal field in 1996, after receiving an Associate in Applied Science (Legal Assistance) from Midland College in Midland, Texas, and the CLA designation from NALA in 1995.

Mary has been active in LAA/PB by serving in the following positions: President, Second Vice President, Secretary, NALA Liason, various committee chair positions and LAA/PB Representative to TAPA. She has served four years as Director for District 11 of the Paralegal Division (PD) of the State Bar and for two years as secretary of the Board of Directors for PD. She currently serves as PD Membership Subcommittee Chair. Additionally, Mary is a charter associate member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.

Mary's family consists of a son and a daughter, two grandsons, a "herd" of cats and two dogs.
